RVP fires parting shot at LVG
Van Persie effectively confirmed the total breakdown of their relationship by making a point of thanking everyone for his time at Old Trafford
except United
boss Van Gaal.
“Everyone in the squad showed me that they had appreciated my time at United. That was enough for me to leave with the right feeling.”
Van Persie, 31, then interrupted the translator to add: “Let me please add one more person to thank. I highly appreciate the work of [executive vice-chairman] Ed Woodward in this transfer.
“He was the man who was very classy in all this. A true gentleman. Ed, if you are listening or watching, thank you!’’
Valdes 'fit but not selected'

The Spanish goalkeeper was the most high-profile absentee from the 26-strong squad of players who flew to Seattle on Monday at the start of the trip.
It has emerged Valdes is not injured and, according to a senior source at the club, was simply "not selected" for the four-game tour, which kicks off on Friday night with a match against Mexico City side Club America.
Former Barcelona star Valdes has been linked with a move to Antalyaspor of Turkey, but United insist there is no likelihood of that deal going ahead, although they are open to offers from other clubs.
But the absence of Valdes from the tour and his expected departure, coupled with the ongoing uncertainty over first-choice keeper David De Gea's future, has increased the pressure on United to recruit a goalkeeper of some stature.
PSG will match Di Maria's £200k wages

Paris St Germain are
willing to match Angel Di Maria's £200,000-a-week wages at Manchester United to entice him to join.
They missed out on him last summer when he opted to join United from Real Madrid in a British record £59.7million switch from Real Madrid.
Di Maria has struggled to establish himself at Old Trafford and lost his place towards the end of the campaign.
PSG have noted how unsettled Di Maria and his wife are in Manchester and they put their £4.1million Cheshire mansion up for sale after it was broken into earlier this year
